Our new series 'Facing the Music' initially
transmits on BBC2 and then is repeated on BBC1 at a later date. The
series runs from Dec 04 to May 05. We teach a member of the public
(no wannabes!) to sing in six days and at the end of the six
days they do a surprise performance for someone they love. They may
be singing to say 'thank you,' 'sorry,' 'goodbye,' etc
and it could be to a friend, relative, partner or group of people.
Every day
we give them vocal coaching in the morning and a 'Task' in the afternoon.
The tasks are all geared towards helping that final performance. Some are funny
and some are downright scary! It’s been an amazing programme to work on
so far and a real privilege to be nominated for the Royal Television Award on
our first series.
David & Carrie are broadening their activities
in the media and recent tv appearances include David on 'Celebrity
Mastermind', 'Test The Nation' 'Daily Politics' and 'FlashMob-The
Opera' with Carrie featured in her series 'The Agents' as
well as 'The Wright Stuff' 'Breakfast Time' 'Strictly
Come Dancing – It Takes Two' 'Richard and
Judy' and together on 'Celebrity Weakest Link.'
'Can’t Sing Singers' (a new series on BBC 1)
is currently running early on Saturday evenings. The programme focuses
on the country’s worst
singers and everyone has been asking us if they can be in the next series.
How come so many people are convinced they can’t sing?
Keep
a look out over Chrismas for The Graham Norton Sound of Music Special
where I (Carrie) play a nun! It’s hilarious. I got to sing with June
Whitfield, Gloria Hunniford, Linda Robson, Lesley Garrett, Fearne Cotton,
Bonnie Langford
and Dick and Dom.
Also BBC3 triumph 'Flashmob' should be coming to
terrestrial over
the next couple of months. Basically it’s a live musical that takes place
in Paddington Station with all the trains going in and out of the station and
commuters going about their usual business. David plays a smooth-singing angel.
Compulsive viewing!
Chistmas Eve sees us taking part for the second year
running in The Eastenders Christmas Special. We had another fantastic
day with the cast
down in Walford.
It’s amazing standing there in the middle of TV’s most famous Square,
we were like children in a sweetshop! Also met McFly, who were great lads and
forgave us for not knowing the McFly question on Celebrity Weakest Link. Anne
Robinson was so scary we just couldn’t think!
We also make regular appearances
on The Wright Stuff on Channel 5.
Early next
year sees the return of Comic Relief does Fame Academy. Very exciting stuff
and should be set for a few laughs. Not sure as yet who our victims,
sorry,
students will be. Watch this space.
